The Rainbow Waves Quilt is an optical illusion quilt that seems like overlapping waves in the sea. This is a free quilt pattern designed by Stacey Day for Free Spirit Fabrics featuring the Zuma fabric collection by Tula Pink.
This quilt project is a variation of the Storm at Sea quilt pattern that tricks our eyes with full movement. It may look like there is a curved piecing being used but there isn't. It is just a contrasting effect of the two different block units, a square in a square (in two sizes) and a diamond in a rectangle patched closely together.
