A stunning Double Wedding Ring Quilt pattern that is perfect to gift for the newlyweds. To Have and To Hold Quilt is designed by Kathryn Patterson from McCall’s Quilting.
I made this quilt several years ago. My sister asked me to make it for her daughter when she got married. I used materials from both my mother’s and my stashes for all the ring and pinwheel pieces. I ended up using over 50 different materials in 5 colour groups. My sister bought the cream background material, batten and 2 shades of blue for the backing. (Blue is my niece’s favourite colour). I made 2 ladders of different widths using all the colours from the front to break up the blue and add interest to the back. She can flip the quilt for a totally different look. I had it quilted with a random meander that incorporated hearts and swirls. The finish product was amazing. It was such a special gift for my niece from the women in her life: Her Mom, Grandmother and Aunt, each contributing what they could.
Wow! with the way you describe it we are sure that it is a lovely wedding quilt. A handmade gift to be treasured forever. We would love to see it and We are certain that fellow quilters would be happy to see your work, too. You can join our FB group to share your quilts. I cannot get this pattern to come up. I really want to make this quilt as I have two grandchildren getting married and want to make it. The plain wedding ring pattern came up but not the To Have and To Hold.
Are there pre-made templates for the To Have & To Hold quilt. Having difficulty in making the paper templates. Thanks
